Kuwaiti Scientists Say Peak Oil Will Arrive in 2014

gas2.0 -- New research out of Kuwait, using a new method of calculating the crude oil production potential of 47 of the world’s largest oil producing countries, has found that peak oil — the period in time when oil production reaches a maximum and then begins to decline — will come much sooner than expected… 2014 to be exact.
Peak oil is an important concept to fully understand in our modern world, given that we are so heavily dependent on petroleum products for everything from transportation to plastic. With the onset of peak oil, many expect that governments, economies, and cultures will start systematically collapsing as demand for crude oil overwhelms supply — unless we can do something to wean ourselves off of it before then.

Over the last few decades, much has been debated about peak oil a

Mazdaman can believe what he wants. Kuwait can believe wht they want also. There is more oil in Alaska than 99% of the population realize. The IMF have got the lid on enough oil that would make Saudia Arabia, jealous.

More MisInformation to scare the public, pure and simple.

Let's see, as their oil runs out the Kuwaiti's are actually going to have to go back to doing their own work, instead of hiring others to do EVERYTHING for them.

I believe easy oil has already come and gone. Peak will begin as we begin using more, unless we have a good alternative, for now that seems to be hybrid. Conservation keeps your money in your pocket.

That could be true... maybe. However, it doesn't really matter if we continue to work on alternative energy. We should be well on our way to
clean energy independence by 2014.

There is a simple cure for this. First we need to recycle more plastic and stop putting it into landfills and secondly we need to start drilling our own oil. There is more oil in the Midwest than all of OPEC and the rest of the world combined. We need to vote out the Democrat and RINO's who won't allow drilling and start drilling now.

So much of the barrel is now used for plastics and by stopping the use of so much plastic where metal can be used, such as making vehicles would help the situation. For some of the young people, there was a time when good vehicles were actually made out of metal. This would also help the steel mills and mining operations that have and are shutting down. Metal toys lasted for decades as have other products no longer made of metal. With the increased fuel economy in vehicles of today and the switch to more heating with natural gas, there could and should be less dependance on oil.
